#ChooseToChallenge barriers women face to access like-saving knowledge for COVID19 response - Celebrating International Women’s Day 2021

June 07, 2021 leadership
Women make up 70% of the global health and social care workforce. They are often underpaid or unpaid. They constitute less than 25% of leadership in health. A large percentage of women face discrimination or bias, and yet they face the greatest risk during health emergencies. On #IWD2021 on 8 March, we dive deeper into the inequities faced by women who work in COVID19 and the barriers they face to access lifesaving knowledge and receive the real-time training they need and want. Join our panel of women and men, practitioners, experts and leaders to explore how we can #ChoseToChallenge these barriers so that women can shape a more equal future in a Covid-19 world. Access to knowledge, education and training for health workers and emergency personnel is a direct contributor to access to equity in health.
